New WM3 Videos Thanking Supporters

In January of 2011, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. recorded these statements for the WM3.org website and to welcome guests to Largo at the Coronet Theater for the February 21, 2011 West Memphis Three Benefit.

The founders of WM3.org join Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. to remind West Memphis Three supporters that the fight isn't over yet. Additional funding is still desperately needed if these men are going to see the justice they deserve. Help them raise the funds they need for what we hope will be the final mile of their long journey through the legal system.

Skeleton Key Auctions Feature Byers' Original Artworks

John Mark Byers has generously offered up five of his original wooden art pieces (some made in conjunction with his wife Jackie) to Anje Vela's Skeleton Key Auctions to raise money for the West Memphis Three. (All of his pieces are autographed on either the front or the back.) A man that needs no introduction to WM3 supporters, JMB was unofficially indicted from the beginning as the "real" murderer by many supporters for nearly the same reason the WM3 now sit in prison— his behavior was deemed scary and unusual. Mark's change of status from villain to WM3 supporter has been a most welcome one, and many of these pieces were inspired by his remarkable transformation. It takes a lot of courage for him to listen to the facts, realize that innocent men sit unjustly convicted of Christopher, Stevie and Michael's murders and publicly stand up for justice for ALL of them.

Also up for auction on SKA is The Chase, a wild, retina searing green-on-orange silkscreen by L.A.'s Anthony Ausgang, who you may know from his MGMT "Congratulations" album cover. 

We're proud to offer these pieces (as displayed in the Largo gallery) by Mr. Byers and Mr. Ausgang online via Skeleton Key Auctions. The length of the auctions will be 18 days, one day for each year that Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley have been imprisoned. 100% of the proceeds from these sales will go to the Defense Fund.

Autographed Largo Poster Up for Auction

Monday February 21st, the sold-out benefit for the WM3 was held at Largo in Los Angeles featuring comedians Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Blaine Kapatch, Kyle Kinane, Matt Besser, Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, and musicians Aimee Mann and Michael Penn. Huge thank yous to the aforementioned performers, as well as organizer and long-time WM3 supporter Darcy Staniforth for making it all happen!

WM3.org hosted a small art show inside of Largo as well and today we're proud to offer these pieces online via Anje Vela's Skeleton Key Auctions. MIsskelley Attorney Files ASSC Appeal Blasting Burnett!

As if you need another reason to subscribe to DK2 w/U, Mara Leveritt exclusively covers the Rosenzweig bombshell filed 02/18 with the Arkansas State Supreme Court-- the very same day the WM3 attorneys filed their briefs with the state :

"Jeff Rosenzweig, an attorney for Jessie Misskelley, Jr., filed an appeal on Friday with the Arkansas Supreme Court in which he argued that Judge David Burnett violated the U.S. Constitution, the Arkansas Constitution and the Arkansas Code of Judicial Conduct by continuing to rule on Misskelley’s case, even though Burnett was an announced candidate for a political office and had filed a professional complaint against one of Misskelley’s witnesses.

The appeal asks the state’s high court to order a new Rule 37 hearing for Misskelley because Burnett’s announced intention to run for a seat in the Arkansas Senate, which he later won, was “contrary to due process guarantees” of the nation’s 14th Amendment as well as “the spirit, if not the letter” of Arkansas’s Amendment 80, which abolished partisan judicial elections."

The full Rule 37 is nearly a thousand pages long while the following select is only 50.
